State Election Commission orders parties to follow model code of conduct

Dibrugarh: As informed by Assam State Election Commission (SEC), the time period allotted for campaigning for the upcoming Panchayat elections will end on December 3 at 3 pm. Under the Section 126(1) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, no political party will be able to call for meetings or carry out processions after the termination of the aforementioned time period. Moreover, they will also not be allowed to promote anything related to the elections through television, cinematography, or any other medium. The State Election Commission has also ordered all the political parties and the candidates to strictly follow the model code of conduct.
