Guwahati: Come December and every sports lover will get to read the autobiography of Tripura Star Gymnast Dipa Karmakar as she is all set to release her first book on December 10.

The book which has been co-authored by Dipa Karmakar's coach Bishweshwar Nandi and Digvijay Singh Deo Vimal Mohan is a great endeavor on the part of the gymnast.

The autobiography delves into how the star gymnast revolutionized the sport in the country.

It needs to be mentioned that she bagged the gold in the women’s vault event at the Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup in Mersin in Turkey in July this year. Tripura girl Dipa Karmakar also represented India at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and became the first Indian female gymnast ever to compete in the Olympics. She is also the recipient of Arjuna Khel Ratna Award.

It may be noted here that Bishweshwar Nandi is a recipient of the Dronacharya Award and is one of India’s most iconic coaches. A five-time National individual champion, Bishweshwar captained the Indian Gymnastics team on six occasions, including the 1982 Asian Games in New Delhi. He is the man behind Dipa's tremendous success.

It needs to be mentioned here that author Digvijay Singh Deo is one of India’s leading sports journalists and currently heads the sports team at Zee Media Corporation Limited’s global news channel World is One News, WION. He has previously worked with Star News, Doordarshan News, and CNN-IBN.
