LAKHIMPUR: As a part of yoga education incorporated in the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.ED) course, a two-day long yoga workshop was organized in Dhakuakhona Normal School. The workshop started from Wednesday with the participation of 600 D.El.Ed trainees of 2018-19 batch.
Retired Principal Digendra Nath Hazarika, the president of Dhakuakhona unit Asom Bigyan Samiti, inaugurated the workshop. Hazarika in his lecture elaborated the importance of practising yoga for the comprehensive wellness of body, mind and the soul. “Yoga is not only a method of physical exercise for the sport personalities but a holistic way of wellness. Now the people of the world have understood the importance of practising yoga and hence International Yoga Day is observed across the globe,” he said in the inaugural ceremony.
