Two Major Road Accidents kill five in Sonitpur

Tezpur: In a tragic incident, two people died in a road accident after a speeding truck hit their motorcycle on Monday afternoon in at National Highway 37 at Bhujkhowa area in Tezpur. Reportedly, the other pillion rider received severe injuries was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

As per a report, all the three people were coming in one bike bearing registration number AS 12L 8489.

The deceased persons have been identified as Sukhdev Shill and Dhanraj Rai. Also, the other injured person was Rasim Uddin.

Eyewitnesses also claimed that the truck was carrying 'Challani Fish' from Andhra Pradesh bearing registration number AP 05TD 6339 rammed the bikers from the front killing them on the spot.

Similarly, in Sonitpur's Jamugurihaat's Toubhonga area three members of a family died on the spot after a speeding Ultra Bus bearing registration number AS 12L 4723 rammed them today at around 11 am today.

Reports also claim that the incident took place near National Highway 15.

The identity of the deceased family members (Husband, Wife, Daughter) was not ascertained yet, claims a police official.

Police officers also stated that it is a case of hit and run, as the bus later escaped from the spot.
