Two students from Guwahati selected for semis of Discovery Super League

Guwahati: Hridansh Surana from Don Bosco High School and Ishaque Hussain from Holy Home Secondary School, Guwahati, have made the city proud by qualifying for the semi-finals (the TV phase) of Discovery School Super League Powered by Byju’s. The team from Assam will compete with teams from 28 other states as well as 1 Union Territory (Delhi) for the national title as well as a chance to visit NASA. DSSL reached 12000+ schools across India where 43.7 lakh students participated in the initial around. An additional 3.7 lakh wild card entries came through Byju’s app. Toppers from each school qualified for the next phase. The phase 2 test was conducted in 196 cities – 2 toppers from each state qualified for the semis. The on-air phase will feature 30 state-wise teams will compete in 5 semi-finals (6 teams per episode). DSSL premieres on April 28 on Discovery Channel and Discovery HD World. The quiz show will also be showcased on Discovery Science and Discovery Kids starting May 1, stated a press release.

The show will be hosted by the multi-talented personalities Mini Mathur and Cyrus Sahukar. These two quizmasters will lead their respective rival camps called the Cyrus’s Champions and Mini’s Mavericks. There will be 6 teams in each episode, and the winners per episode will make their way straight to the finals where they will battle it out to make their home state proud. The quiz offers an exciting reward - top 3 teams, along with their school principals, will win a coveted trip to NASA and a cash prize.
