West Siang District Election Officer takes stock of poll affairs

ITANAGAR: In its effort to gear up preparatory work for the ensuing simultaneous elections, West Siang DEO, Swetika Sachan has directed all nodal officers and sector magistrates to live up to their tasks to ensure a free and fair Assembly and Lok Sabha election in the district. Stressing on SVEEP related issues, she asked all nodal officers to work out facilities to blind and infirm voters as per the directive of the ECI.

Randomization of polling officers will be done shortly and batch-wise training will be imparted for handling EVM/VVPAT. Movement plans for women polling stations, vehicle requirements, appointment of sector magistrates, surveillance teams, MCMC etc., are being worked out comprehensively.

The DEO also stressed that all government officials are now under the direct control of the ECI and no laxity in duties will be tolerated while discharging election duties.
