Will identify all illegal immigrants and deport them- Union Home Minister Amit Shah

New Delhi: Home Minister Amit Shah, speaking during the Question Hour in Rajya Sabha, announces that the illegal immigrants and infiltrators living in the country will be identified and deported from India.

The Union Home Minister, who is also bearing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president role stated, "We will identify all the illegal immigrants and infiltrators living in every inch of this country and deport them as per the international law."

As the issue of illegal immigrants is one of the burning issues of the country at present, especially in Assam, the Narendra Modi-led government must now work towards solving the issue and safeguard the indigenous people of the land. Notably, Assam is one state which has been facing severe infiltration from Bangladesh and to solve the issue of illegal immigrants, the National Register of Citizens was initiated to mark out the illegal inhabitants of the state.

This issue was raised by TMC MP Mahua Moitra earlier this month in the parliament wherein she had said that the people living in the same country for the last 50 years will suddenly be named as illegal immigrants and thrown out of the country. She had said, "People who have lived in this country for 50 years must show a piece of paper to prove they are Indians."

Later, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had said that a multi-pronged approach has been adopted by the centre so that effective surveillance can be achieved in the international border. The centre has opted to take up strict domination over the international border so that the infiltration of illegal migrants could be checked.

The MHA, in a written reply to BJP MP Parvesh Sahib Singh in Lok Sabha, said, "Physical infrastructure like border fencing, floodlighting, construction of border roads and establishment of border outposts have been created."

The ministry had further added that the vulnerable border outposts are regularly reviewed along with the deploying of additional manpower. Special surveillance equipment and other force multipliers have also been used to check the act of illegal immigration.
