World No Tobacco Day Observed Across Arunachal Pradesh

TAWANG: The District Tobacco Control Cell (DTCC) Tawang on Friday organized a awareness procession-cum-mass rally to mark World No Tobacco Day at New Market and District Hospital Tawang. The procession was followed by a meeting which was conducted at Conference Hall of District Hospital.

While addressing the meeting, DMO Tawang advised the students and other participants in the meeting to spread awareness about harmful effects of tobacco to family and friends. He also distributed prizes to the winners of the drawing competition. The meeting ended with the vote of thanks by Leiki Droma SWM, NTCP, Tawang.

In the meeting the district consultant, NTCP, Tawang, Sang Dorjee Dirkhipa gave a detailed explanation about this year’s Theme “Tobacco and Lung Health” though a power point presentation. He also highlighted the ill-effects of tobacco use with relevant facts and figures.

At Bomdila: The World No Tobacco Day was observed under the supervision of District Medical Officer (DMO) in-charge Dr RD Thongchi at General Hospital on Friday. A rally, participated by the staff of the General Hospital and DMO’s office, was organized and led by the DTCP team.

At Roing: Circle Officer Arvind Pangging attended a mass awareness rally and a meeting organized to mark the World No Tobacco Day at Dambuk under Lower Dibang Valley district. The programme was also attended by Programme Officers of the Health Department, medical officers and staff of CHC Dambuk, ASHA workers and members of the Women Wing of Adi Bane Kebang, Dambuk.
