NEW DELHI: In a recent development, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be meeting the Chief Ministers of both Assam and Meghalaya after 10th March 2022 to discuss and settle the border clash between the two northeastern states.

Earlier at the beginning of this year, the Home Minister called both CMs Sarma and Sangma to New Delhi to settle the border dispute. The CMs at that time submitted the reports of the agreement by regional committees to bring an end to the border issues.

The cordial and friendly relationship with the chief ministers of both the state has helped a lot for the states in resolving the border conflict as stated by home ministry officials.

The ministry further stated that it believes the boundary issue between Arunachal and Assam will also get resolved because of the good bond between the CMs of both states.

Apart from the boundary dispute in the aforementioned states, Assam is also involved in such disputes with other northeastern states like Nagaland and Mizoram. It may be mentioned that in 2021, at least 5 cops from Assam were brutally killed in the border fight between the two states.
