ITANAGAR: As many as 158 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh, pushing the total caseload in the northeastern state to 33,081, a senior health official said here on Monday.

The death toll in the frontier state remained at 159 with no fresh casualty reported in the past 24 hours, State Surveillance Officer Dr Lobsang Jampa said. The Capital Complex Region reported the highest number of fresh cases at 52, followed by Kurung Kumey at 14 and Changlang at 11, the official said.

Nine fresh cases each were also reported from East Siang and Kra Daadi, eight each from Papumpare and Kamle, six from Lower Siang, five each from West Siang, West Kameng, Tawang, Namsai and Lower Dibang Valley, four each from East Kameng and Upper Subansiri, three from Lower Subansiri and one each from Anjaw, Leparada, Pakke Kessang, Tirap and Upper Siang district respectively, the SSO said.
