ITANAGAR: The Special Investigation Cell (SIC) of the State police has arrested two government officials, Golly Ketan and Goy Ketan, in connection with the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) cash-for-job scam last Sunday.
The total number of arrested persons in the case is now 27.
SP (SIC) Anant Mittal informed that a case was registered by one Kesto Loriak and seven other deprived candidates of APPSC CE-2017, following which the SIC amalgamated all complaints related to APPSC-2014 and arrested the duo last Sunday.
Mittal said that after detailed interrogation, and technical and financial analysis of suspects, the police arrested Golly Ketan and Goy Ketan.
Golly Ketan (32) and Goy Ketan (29) served as Assistant Engineer (AE) under Public Work Department in Anini and Assistant Engineer (AE) under Urban Development department in Kaying respectively.
All the arrests so far by the SIC is in connection with the question paper leakage in APPSC CE-2017 and other examinations. The case is registered under SIC (VIG) C/No.12/2022, U/S 120(B)/420/406/409 IPC R/W Sec.7/8/13 (2) PC Act, 1988.
"The investigation into the case is ongoing, and all facts of the case are being investigated in detail. All legal formalities and norms of professionalism are being maintained during the investigation," Mittal said, adding that SIC is committed to ensuring justice for the aggrieved.
