3% Dearness Allowances hike for Arunachal Pradesh government employees

ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh government has enhanced the Dearness Allowances (DA) for its regular government employees by three per cent from existing 9 to 12 per cent of the basic pay from January 1, this year.

State Development Commissioner Bilatee Pertin in a notification informed that in pursuance to the office memorandum of the Department of Expenditure under the union ministry of finance, the State government would pay the DA in cash to its regular employee from June 1 next.

The DA arrears for the period from January 1 to April 30, 2019, would be credited in the GPF accounts of the State government employees in the revised pay structure of 7th Central Pay Commission.

The DA arrears for the period would be paid in cash for the employees under the National Pension Scheme, the order stated. The revised rates of DA would be applicable only to regular government employees and would not apply to private and Non-Government institutions receiving grants-in-aid from the government.

The expenditure on account of the DA would be met from existing budget provisions of the concerned departments in the 2019-20 financial year, the order added.
