ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday reported 32 new COVID-19 cases, nine more than the previous day, with the tally rising to 55,407.

According to Health Department sources, 16 of the new cases were registered in the Capital Complex Region, six in Lohit district, three each in Namsai and West Kameng, two in East Siang and one each in Changlang and West Siang.

At least eight Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel, five National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) officials, two Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) jawans and one personnel each from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Border Roads Organisation (BRO), are among the new patients, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.

The death toll remained at 282 as no fresh fatality due to the infection was reported during the period, he said.
