As many as 565 citizens, mostly migrant workers, were inoculated with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine during a ‘Maha Tika Abhiyan’ organized at Tawang district recently.

ITANAGAR: As many as 565 citizens, mostly migrant workers, were inoculated with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine during a 'Maha Tika Abhiyan' organized at Tawang district recently.

To ensure that no one is left out of the COVID-19 vaccination, the district administration and the Health department conducted the 'Abhiyan' at the Kalawangpo Convention Hall in the parade ground.

"We have covered almost all the villages of the district with first dose of Covid-19 jab. However, there are migrant workers and people living in remote locations who could not register for vaccination due to lack of network coverage and non availability of required documents for registration. The one day vaccination drive was conducted to facilitate those citizens," informed District Reproductive and Child Health Officer (DRCHO) Dr Rinchin Neema.Tawang Deputy Commissioner Sang Phuntsok along with District Medical Officer (DMO) Dr Wangdi Lama and Dr Neema personally monitored the vaccination Abhiyaan.
