BANDERDEWA: Home Minister Bamang Felix, Sports & Youth Affairs Minister Mama Natung, Minister for Education Taba Tedir, IMC Mayor Tame Phassang joined hands to provide free ration items to at least 6,000 daily wage earners/stranded people of the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR). Home Minister Bamang Felix, Sports Minister Mama Natung, and IMC Mayor Tame Phassang jointly flagged off at least 23 vehicles loaded with ration items which will be distributed in different Wards of the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) at Circle Office here on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Sports & Youth Affairs Mama Natung informed that the State government is very much concerned about the daily wage earners/stranded people during this lockdown. "No government or individual support lockdown, but it is the only option left for us to control the virus from spreading further," Natung said.

He also appealed to the people to cooperate with the administration, health department, IMC, and State government to fight the pandemic. "We are not only concerned toward the people and families who are losing their loved ones due to COVID-19 but also for those families who are dependent on daily wages," he added.

"We are making sure that the students staying in rented houses and other daily wage earners can avail the free ration to sustain the extended 7 days lockdown," he said.

While speaking about the free ration distribution, IMC Mayor Tame Phassang informed that no government fund was being used in this programme to provide essential items. The Mayor also informed that at least 6,000 people will be provided 10 kg rice including other basic commodities in different wards of the IMC jurisdiction.

Further, he appealed to all the people to follow all the SOPs to break the chain and to unlock the capital region.

Among others, IMCC Commissioner Chuku, DC ICR Talo Potom, DF&CSO Amit Bengia, SDPO Naharlagun D Gumja, CO Banderdewa, Corporators and other officials attended the event.
