Pasighat: Patients visiting Assa Diagnostic & Nursing Home (AD&NH), Pasighat will now have more advanced imaging services through a newly installed CT scanner. As a major boost to the poor and economically weaker sections of society, AD&NH installed a Hi-Tech Scanner and opened it to the people after several trials runs. It was formally inaugurated today by Professor Dr R Gogoi, Retd. HoD of Radiology Department, Assam Medical College & Hospital (AMCH), Dibrugarh (Assam) in presence of JDHS (BPGH) Dr T. Tali, MS (BPGH) Dr YR Darang, DMO Dr Radesh Tatan, Retd. Ophthalmologists Dr O. Moyong and Retd. Pathologist Dr Ering, MS (AD&NH) Dr N. Ninu and a host of senior doctors and health officials. While commenting on the installation of the ultra-modern CT Scanner, the Chief Guest Dr R. Gogoi stated that with its installation, diagnostic imaging would become far better with increased efficiency, diagnostic confidence and improved workflow. The new technology scanner could take the image of specific parts within a few minutes thereby reducing turnout time for patients. The latest developments in radio diagnosis and imaging had provided considerable relief to patients compared to the olden days when the diagnostic tests used to be primitive. The doctors can diagnose diseases better and it helps in giving better and appropriate treatment to patients. Advancements in radio diagnosis are one of the most helpful mankind had achieved so far. The advanced new generation equipment has provisions to reduce radiation levels when screening children, added Dr Gogoi in his brief address. MS (AD&NH) Dr N. Ninu speaking on the occasion said AD&NH is committed to providing the best care and services to patients including the economically challenged. "When it comes to infrastructure, our management strongly believes in having the best and latest. It will be a major boost to provide quick medical services to the people of the densely populated Pasighat and adjoining districts including neighbouring Assam besides saving time and money", she further stated adding that the scanner could pinpoint the exact location of the disease and the extent of damage in a more accurate manner. Scanning of body parts such as brain, pulmonary, upper limbs, lower limbs, cortical and renal could be done at nominal rates and in a hassle-free manner. Among other dignitaries, Dr T. Tali (JDHS) and Dr YR Darang (MS) also spoke on the occasion. The duo opined that the installation of this state-of-the-art advanced CT scan machine by AD&NH displayed its commitment to society.
