ITANAGAR: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) has expressed dismay to know about the recent hand grenade blast inside the official compound of All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) at Imphal on June 8 last.
Although there was no casualty due to the blast, the union strongly condemned such a cowardly attack against a premier student's organization of the North East region which has been tirelessly working for the indigenous people of Manipur since its very inception.
"The genuine voice of the students' community can never be silenced. Such attacks never serve any purpose but as they will only strengthen the resolve and zeal of the AMSU to work for the student's community of Manipur. The attack points out the desperation of anti-social elements who want to derail the students' union movement in the State of Manipur," AAPSU president Hawa Bagang and General Secretary Tabom Dai said in a statement on Friday.
"The AAPSU will do whatever it can under the aegis of the North East Students' Organization (NESO) for ensuring justice to the AMSU. While extending our solidarity with the students' community of Manipur and the All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU), we strongly urge the Government of Manipur to take serious note of the incident and immediately arrest all the culprit(s) involved in the attack," the union added.
