ITANAGAR: The All Nyishi Students Union (ANSU) along with the All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) have called to take out a joint mass referendum rally from the Dera Natung Government College (DNGC) to IG Park near here on December 3 next in connection with the ongoing Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) examination paper leakage scam.

Addressing the media at the press club here on Wednesday, ANSU's vice president Rahim Yangfo said that ANSU and AAPSU have received memorandums from the aspirants of APPSC under the banner 'Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee' related to the cash-for-jobs scam in various exams conducted by the State civil service commission. Moreover, the investigation into the case is getting delayed and the State Government is yet to take strict action against officials involved in corruption, he said.

Yangfo said that the union is of belief that the corrupt practices within the APPSC are not new and the recent arrest of candidates and officials by the SIC has confirmed it. Therefore, the union demands of the State Government to declare all the exams where question paper was leaked as null and void, he said.

Likewise, ANSU also demanded the immediate arrest of the chairman, secretary members, and all the officials of the APPSC; ED and Court-monitored probes; immediate dismissal and termination of State Government officials involved; no examination date to be declared by APPSC until the investigation process is completed; and a new SOP for the examination to be prepared with the participation of at least two aspirants.

"ANSU also demands of the State Government to recruit Mudang Yabyang, a PWD candidate for the post of lecturer at polytechnic college, and reward Gyamar Padang with the post of Assistant Engineer (AE-Civil) for his act for being the whistleblower of the APPSC exam paper leak," he said.

Other demands included making public of the report of the three-member IAS officers' committee on AE (Civil) exam paper leakage, recall of three State Government officials posted under APPSC and payment of compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to all the aggrieved candidates.
