ITANAGAR: The All Nyishi Youth Association, KurungKumey Unit, on Sunday demanded the authority to expedite the work of Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH)-713 in KurungKumey district.
In a press conference held here on Sunday, ANYA Kurung Kumey Unit president BengiaTaram claimed that progress of TAH road in the district is going on snail pace thus affecting the day today lives including transportation and rations.
BengiaTaram said, "The land compensation issue in KurungKumey district was resolved in 2017. We took a resolution to cooperate with the district administration in implementing TAH in the district so that there would be no obstacle to road. ''However, we had a strong reservation that formation-cutting works of Package 8 should be started from Koloriang DC office; package 7 should be from Sangram township and Package 6 from Ponrong to avoid inconvenience to the commuters.'' He further claimed that the executing agency -- TK Engineering -- started the formation cutting work at its convenience and thus created inconvenience to the commuters, disrupted transportation of rations and other supplies in the district. ANYA unit president also demanded that the Food Cooperation of India godown must be shifted to Koloriang for the welfare of the people of KurungKumey district.
ANYA unit GS HuriTadung claimed that there are numerous anomalies going on in the Public Works Department. "The PWD never floated NIT for KurungKumey district. Even if they floated, it must have been floated on Friday and by the time it reaches the public, the deadline is already over," alleged Tadung.
