ITANAGAR: The candidates that appeared in the Physical Test (PT) for the post of Forester and Forest Guard have accused the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) of anomalies during the test conducted at PTC Banderdewa on March 25.

The candidates demanded an early decision on the matter so that they can prepare for the next test. There were more than 70 candidates who claimed that there were anomalies in the test.

Speaking to the reporters, one of the candidates said during the test, candidates were to complete 14 km in seven rounds. Surprisingly, even after completing the test according to the rules, many of the candidates were disqualified.

The candidate also informed that earlier on the day they met APSSB under-secretary who said that the decision of qualification will be decided during the board meeting and the candidates have to accept the decision of the board.

"While the earlier candidates were verified for the completion of the seven-lap run and then other formalities were done, we were asked to leave the ground by the officials stating that the scanner fitted in the legs generates automatic verification and will be saved in the system," the candidate said, adding that by the time they completed the run, no verifying authority was present at the ground.

The advertisement for the post was made in the year 2019. The test was held on March 25 and the result was declared on March 27.

According to the candidate, the aggrieved candidates have not planned their future course of action if the board fails to deliver justice. However, the candidates will seek to go for any kind of democratic movement.

"We believe that the board will come up with a positive decision in the matter. The board should also know that the verifying authority was not present during the completion of the run on the day," the candidate added.

Another candidate informed that they completed the 14 km run before the permitted time of four hours. The test began around 4.45 pm and the time of completion was at 8.45 pm.

"We completed the run before 7.15pm but we were disqualified, which is unfair to the candidates. We were not provided with a token which was given to the first batch of candidates to ensure that the 7-round run was completed," the candidate said, adding that the monitor was also shut down when we completed their run.
