Itanagar: The Tawang district unit of Arunachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (APB&OCWWB), conducted a week long awareness camps to the labourers at various labour camps in the district.
The week-long camp initially started from Taktsang Gonpa under Zemithang circle on October 7 last followed by such camps at Y-Junction labour camp, Jang and finally at Dzela and Nuranang on October 14, an official release informed.
During the camps the registering officer of APB&OCWWB Phurpa Tsering gave awareness on the statutory benefits to the registered labourers. He also gave information on how to register the labourers under APB&OCWWB and claim benefits.
Tsering further informed the labourers about enhancement of the statutory benefits like maternity, death, marriage and home loan for registered labourers by the APB&OCWWB in its last meeting.
Tsering was accompanied by Chairman of Losel Nyinje Charitable Society Tawang Rinchin Norbu and President of Border road Organisation labour union (BROLU) Tawang Unit Pema Wangdi and Secretary BROLU Jang Dorje Tsering at Dzela and Nuranang labour camps.
During the camp at Dzela and Nuranang Labour camps, Norbu spoke on cleanliness maintenance, hygiene and proper care of health.
Wangdi expressed his gratitude to the APB&OCWWB for conducting the camps.
Non statutory benefits like water filter and other materials would be distributed to labourers during medical camps in coming days informed Tsering.
