ITANAGAR: The Chairman of Green Gold Integrated Farm (GGIF) Likha Maj has appealed to the Arunachal Pradesh Government to introduce Aatma Nirbhar Pashupalan, Matasyapalan, Poultry schemes etc., in the line of other existing schemes in the ensuing 2022-23 Budget session.
Addressing the media at the press club here on Sunday, Maj said that there are farmers who are willing to progress in the sector of agriculture and horticulture. Like Aatma Nirbhar Bagwani Yojana and Aatma Nirbhar Krishi Yojana, there are Aatma Nirbhar Pashupalan, Matasyapalan, Poultry schemes which need to be introduced in the State for economic development and employment generation.
He said that there are many farmers engaged in rubber plantation, tea plantation, fisheries, cow rearing, goat rearing, pig rearing etc. Similarly, there are farmers who are engaged in the field of beekeeping, textile & handloom and other agriculture-allied activities.
"Therefore, I would like to request the State Government to provide the same subsidy to these farmers, as given to farmers under Aatma Nirbhar Bagwani Yojana and Aatma Nirbhar Krishi Yojana to encourage them," he said.
The State Government should also provide 45% as State subsidy, 45% as bank loan and the rest 10% will be invested by the farmers. In this way the Government's dream of making farmers self-reliant will be achieved, he added.
Maj also suggested the establishment of different food industries in the mega and mini food parks which are being constructed in the State. He said that the creation of such industries will benefit the farmers as they will be able to sell the produce directly in the food parks as well as the doorstep of the consumers.
He said that the Government of India is already providing 50% one-time grant to the entrepreneurs for setting up of food industries in Mega and Mini food parks under the Creation/Expansion of Processing and Preserving Capacities (CEPPC) scheme.
"Therefore, I appeal to the State Government to encourage the entrepreneurs by providing a 20% and 30% grant by the bank and entrepreneur equity, respectively," he said.
He further requested that the banks be instructed that the farmers should be provided loans on the basis of agricultural papers, like LPC, Lease document and not on receipt given from the Gram Panchayat/Gaon Burah.
"Even those farmers who do not have agricultural papers but have ancestral land should be provided loan facility on the basis of any paper. This is to avoid official and banking hindrance while fulfilling the formalities by the farmers," he added.
