Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh Youth Congress (APYC) has alleged gross anomalies in appointment of various posts under the land management department and demanded a probe by the Special Investigating Cell (SIC).

APYC president Geli Ete has alleged that land management secretary S K Jain and director E Nangkar have appointed mondol, chainman and surveyor in the department without any interview which came to light on the basis of records obtained through RTI.

“Though the department gave names of six persons, kith and kin of the director, but the number of appointments could run into hundreds,” Ete alleged. The APYC has demanded suspension of the duo and proper investigation by the SIC to unravel the truth. Ete informed that APYC RTI cell has submitted the FIR at Itanagar police station and SIC SP besides a memorandum to chief secretary demanding immediate suspension of the duo to facilitate fair investigation by the state government. The APYC would wait for the response of the government on the issue but would not tolerate such activities as such illegal appointments put hopes of thousands of deserving unemployed candidates of the state at stake. “It is learned that the secretary has issued a notice terminating those given jobs without interview during his tenure. But we have sought information during the tenure of SK jain secretary and Director Land E Nangkar tenure only”, Ete said, adding the demand is not termination of jobs but suspension of both of them and a probe by the SIC. “Their suspension by the government will be an example and raised hopes of thousands of unemployed youths and instill faith of the people in working of Pema Khandu government,” the APYC chief said while threatening democratic movement involving job seekers if the government fails to fulfill the demands.
