The Chief Minister also urged the party members to spread word to people on being cautious and to maintain safety measures if any day lockdown is lifted, an official communique informed.
Khandu said once the lockdown is lifted, people stranded outside the State would start to rush in and that is when strict measures are to be in place to stop spread of novel coronavirus.
“Due to risk of virus entering the state through a potential carrier coming from outside the State, eleven check gates along the Assam-Arunachal border have been made operational while rest have been closed. The frontline workers on duty in these check gates being provided with all safety kits and equipment,” he added.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the state has no shortage of PPE kits and order would be placed for more number of kits.
Khandu said Arunachal will have two specialized COVID-19 hospitals – one in Itanagar (Western zone) and Pasighat (Eastern zone).
In Pasighat, an Ayurveda institute has been identified as COVID-19 hospital while for Itanagar, a suitable place would be identified as COVID-19 hospital somewhere in an isolated area so that the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS), presently designated as the lone COVID-19 hospital in the state, could be relieved to attend normal patients.
The BJP Mahila Morcha state president Higio Aruni was also present during the video conference. This is the third such conference by Khandu with the party workers within this month, the communique added.
