ITANAGAR: Congress MLA from 15- Sagalee Assembly constituency Nabam Tuki took the oath of affirmation administered by the Legislative Assembly Speaker PD Sona in his office in Itanagar on Monday.

Speaking to the media persons, Tuki said that due to health issues he could not attend the oath-taking programme on the first day of 7th Assembly session on June 3. “I was in Delhi for medical treatment and for which I had also submitted a leave of absence letter to the Speaker earlier,” he added. Tuki also said that being Opposition party leader he will support the BJP-led Pema Khandu government for the welfare of the people and will also raise his voice against any wrongdoings.

He also urged the present BJP government to check the law-and-order problems in the State. “As an Opposition leader I will do what I have to. So we will be working as a constructive Opposition,” Tuki said adding that in the coming three years he will provide all-weather roads connecting all the villages in his constituency.

Tuki said that his priority would be to generate employment in his constituency. “Though there is much improvement in the road communication and infrastructure development in my constituency, I would also put in effort for a proper education system, health system and other skill development activities,” Tuki said.
