PASIGHAT: Education Minister Taba Tedir on Friday laid the foundation stone for the composite National Cadet Corps (NCC) complex, an initiative of the state government towards strengthening NCC activities in the frontier state and facilitating in-house training facilities for the cadets of the state, particularly from far-flung and remote areas, at 2 Mile near Pasighat.
Addressing the gathering, Taba Tedir said that the state government is prioritizing encouraging the students and youth to be part of NCC, which is guided by the motto of “Unity & Discipline” for their all-round growth and nation-building. He said NCC shapes the youth on a positive path and instills values of patriotism, discipline, physical fitness, teamwork, and paving the way for career avenues.
Tedir also informed that the 100 bedded hostel project for setting up the training Academy amounting to Rs.15 crore has already been sanctioned by the state government. Hence, he asked the executing agency to ensure the quality and timely completion of the project.
Meanwhile, Commanding Officer (CO) Col. MS Nijjar briefed on the NCC activities undertaken under his jurisdiction. He said that NCC periodic training, drills, and camps will be held within the campus with all required facilities.
The Cadets from Central and East Arunachal, both from adjoining and those from border and remote areas will be very much benefited. NCC cadets will be provided training for appearing in National level camps and competitions including recruitment rallies of the Armed Forces, Central & State, Paramilitary, and Police Forces.
Among others, Local MLA Kaling Moyong, DC Tayi Taggu, Director Secondary Education Marken Kadu, Commanding Officer 22 AP Bn NCC Pasighat, Lt Col MS Nijjar, SDPO Pankaj Lamba, DDSE East Siang and NCC Cadets were present on the day.
