Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (retd) Dr BD Mishra on Thursday appealed to the people of the State to abide by the directives issued by the state government to stay at home during the 21-day lockdown imposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to contain Covid-19 pandemic. The Governor, who is personally monitoring the proper implementation of the lockdown and precautions taken to stop spread of coronavirus, in a statement here said that the lockdown is for the welfare of the people and further sought their cooperation to jointly fight the menace.
Brig Mishra informed that he had personally discussed with the deputy commissioners of all districts and head of State police regarding the arrangements in place to prevent spread of corona virus.
The Governor also reviewed with the DCs the position and management of essential commodities for the people in each district.
Appreciating the district administration and police, the Governor advised them to strictly follow the notification with humane approach. He directed them to ensure action for medical emergencies.
Brig Mishra also advised the state government for the safety and security of the front-line workers, including doctors, nurses, para-medics, police personnel and also those engaged in essential service.
He emphasized on necessary quarantine of the people returning from Covid-19 affected places.
