ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (retd) Dr B.D. Mishra has hailed three prominent personalities of the state on being conferred Padma Shree award by President Ram Nath Kovind at a glittering function held in New Delhi on Tuesday.

The Governor has congratulated Social worker Sathyanarayan Mundayoor, noted novelist Yeshe Dorjee Thongchi and Everester Anshu Jamsenpa who received the civilian award of the country.

While Mundayoor and Thongchi received the award for the year 2020 in the social work, literature and education sector, Jansempa received the award this year for her contribution in the sports sector.

The Governor, on Wednesday, said that the award is an excellent recognition of the extraordinary individuals for their path blazing service to the nation, who are the real champions of change, creativity and diligence.

Mishra expressed his hope that the Padma Shree awardees will continue their good work and inspire the youth and future generations for achieving excellence in their field and render their continuous distinguished service to the society and the nation.

"Mundayoor, Thongchi, and Anshu Jamsenpa have made us proud," said the Governor said.
