JANG: Arunachal Pradesh Minister for Health, WCD and SJETA Alo Libang visited the Jaswant Garh War Memorial here on Thursday. He was by Subedar MV Edward from the Maratha Regiment and Subedar Pawan Kumar from the JAT Regiment of Indian Army.

Paying tribute to the MVC (Posthumous) Rifleman Jaswant Singh, Libang appreciated the Indian Army for keeping alive the courage, discipline and dedication shown by the martyred Jaswant Singh through dedicated War Memorial. He also lauded the Jawans for assisting the tourists who visit Arunachal and the War Memorial besides performing their routine duties and also to the local people of the State.

'Today's youth can learn many things from this War Memorial that shows how we should overcome all hurdles with courage, dedication and discipline in our life," stated Libang.

Subedar MV Edward and Subedar Pawan Kumar informed the Minister that they redecorate and add a new thing to the War Memorial as and when required for its beautification. Recently they installed the digital visitors' book to facilitate the visitors to record their comments and also to have a glimpse of the saga of guts and glory of the Garhwali soldiers who demonstrated great courage and sacrificed their lives during the 1962 war.

The Jaswant Garh War Memorial was constructed to commemorate the battle of Nurang fought on November 17, 1962 and to pay tributes to the supreme sacrifice made by MVC(Posthumous) Rifleman Jaswant Singh.
