ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Bamang Felix on Saturday called upon the people of the remote Kurung Kumey district to work with ‘team spirit’ for all-round development. Speaking at a reception and interaction programme of the newly-appointed Kurung Kumey unit BJP president Phassang Bunghi at Koloriang, he said that a new ‘Team Kurung Kumey’ should be formed so that the people could enjoy the fruit of development initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pema Khandu in the state.

Acknowledging the unprecedented development in the last few years in the district, Felix said that for the better future of the younger generation, people must work together as a team. Highlighting the developmental pace in the state in various sectors, the minister claimed that it just took him five hours from Itanagar to reach Koloriang, the district headquarters, which was earlier beyond imagination. Congratulating Bunghi on his new role, he exuded hope that under his leadership, the party would scale new heights in the district. The minister also lauded the party’s state president, Biyuram Wahge, and other leaders for appointing Bunghi to lead the party in the district.

Earlier, Bunghi thanked the party for reposing faith in him to lead the party. Appealing to party workers to strengthen the party at the grassroots level, he urged them to work with dedication to ensure that lotus blooms in both assembly constituencies in the district. Terming money culture as a bane for democracy, Bunghi said that money culture breeds corruption in society. “BJP is the only party that is committed to rooting out money culture in elections,” he said, adding that the party is committed to growth and progress. Koloriang MLA Loksa Tasar, former MLA Pani Taram, former zilla parishad member Sangha Tagik, state BJYM general secretary Tame Siyang, Kurung Kumey zilla parishad chairperson Dari Mada, and hundreds of BJP karyakartas attended the event.
