NAHARLAGUN: Arunachal Pradesh Health and Family Welfare Minister Alo Libang on Friday launched the Integrated Hospital Management System and Telemedicine (HMIS) at TRIHMS near here.
Speaking to the reporters, Libang said that around 147 HMIS is being installed in the State for better hospital facilities under the Ayushmaan Bharat initiative. He also said that the teleconsultation of telemedicines will commence from Saturday in the entire country.
HMIS system is a computer system that helps manage the information related to health care and aids in the job completion of health care providers effectively. They manage the data related to all departments of healthcare.
He said that the HMIS provides the ability to manage all the paperwork in one place, reducing the work of staff in arranging and analyzing the paperwork of the patients. HMIS will serve to maintain the medical records of the patient, maintain the contact details of the patient, keep track of the appointment dates etc.
"A patient can now avail entire details of diagnosis of past years in any hospital affiliated under the initiative. The people can avail the facilities by the month of November this year," he said, adding that the HMIS has also been launched in Bakin Pertin General Hospital (BPGH), Pasighat.
He also said that sufficient human resources will be provided to hospitals so that the system of HMIS is well understood and easy to use for those living in villages and slow in technology usage.
