Arunachal NPP lauds D D Lapang for joining party

Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh unit of National Peoples’ Party (NPP) on Tuesday appreciated the move of former Meghalaya Chief Minister D D Lapang to resign from the Congress and joining the party’s fold on Monday.

Lapang, a veteran political leader had resigned from the Congress on December 10 last and joined the NPP in a function held at Nongpoh in presence of Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, RD Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar, NPP State President Dr W R Kharlukhi and a host of political leaders.

“His joining to the party will definitely strengthen the hand of Conrad K Sangma as well as party organization in North East which is the biggest blessings to the party and will boost up the moral of NPP leaders as well as workers in the region, a party communiqué informed here.

Lapang, served for five times as chief minister of Meghalaya, Deputy Chief Minister, Minister with various capacities during his fifty years of politics. His experiences, wisdom and knowledge will guide the party to grow further as well propagate the agenda of the concerns of the people of Northeast, the party said.
