ITANAGAR: The Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee (PAJSC) has expressed dissatisfaction with the Arunachal Pradesh state government's response to their 13 demands, which were aimed at addressing the fallout from the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) question paper leak scandal. The committee has been at the forefront of a movement seeking justice in this matter.

At a recent press conference held at the Arunachal Press Club, Tadak Nalo, the Vice Chairman of PAJSC, conveyed the committee's disappointment with the lack of substantial progress in fulfilling their demands. The committee had initially pinned its hopes on a "minutes of meeting" document from February 18, which seemingly addressed their concerns. The Chief Minister, Pema Khandu, had personally assured them of gradual fulfillment of the demands. However, Nalo lamented that the government's assurances remained largely on paper, with only a fraction of their demands having been met.

Nalo raised concerns over the government's approach, stating that while some efforts had been made, most of the crucial demands remained unaddressed. This, he expressed, had led to feelings of betrayal among the committee members who had placed their trust in the government's commitment to rectifying the situation. He criticized the authorities for embarking on a punitive pursuit against PAJSC and its supporters instead of actively addressing the corruption issues at hand.

The committee's 13-point demands included a comprehensive investigation, led by a retired Supreme Court or High Court judge, to cover the period from 2014 to 2022, with the court overseeing the process. Despite these demands, the government has yet to initiate any substantial action in this direction, leaving the committee dissatisfied.

The PAJSC also questioned the government's decision to designate the Yupia district and sessions court as the special fast-track court for the APPSC paper leak cases. The committee argued that this court was already grappling with an excessive workload, making it an unsuitable choice for expediting these critical cases. They urged the government to reconsider and choose a more suitable court within Itanagar.

In addition, the committee called for the release of funds earmarked for the rehabilitation of the scam's victims, emphasizing the importance of swift and tangible support for those affected.

PAJSC affirmed its unwavering commitment to combat corruption and vowed to persist until all their demands are met, signaling that their struggle for justice and accountability will continue.
