ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh celebrated the foundation day of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Delhi, Lakshadweep, and Puducherry at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday. Governor Lt Gen (Retd) KT Parnaik termed November 1 a red letter day in the history of India, as a large number of states and UTs from north to south and east to west were founded on this day. He highlighted the assets of every state and UT and the similarities of these states with Arunachal Pradesh.

The governor thanked the people of the states and UTs celebrating the foundation day for their contribution to the development process of Arunachal Pradesh. The participation of people from every part of the nation in celebrating their foundation day in other states strengthens the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’, he said. The governor said it enhances interaction and promotes mutual understanding between the people of different states and UTs, which reinforces a sustained and structured cultural connection in the areas of language learning, culture, traditions, music, tourism, cuisine, sports, and sharing of best practices. The highlight of the event was the presentation of ‘Thiruvathira’ and ‘Kaikottikali’ dances by the Malayali troupe and ‘Bhangra’ by the Punjab group.
