Arunachal Pradesh: Deputy CM & Union Minister Rijiju Grace Chindang Festival

ARUNACHAL PRADESH: The Chindang Festival, held at the Chindang Festival Hall in the village of Nafra, West Kameng district, witnessed the honorable presence of Union Minister of Earth Sciences, Kiren Rijiju, and Arunachal Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein. At the festival, Deputy Chief Minister Mein served as the Chief Guest, while Union Minister Kiren Rijiju was the Chief Patron of the Festival Committee.

The event was a vibrant display of unity and celebration, as the Sajolang community came together to host an extravagant cultural festivity. It provided a platform for preserving traditional folk songs, local cuisines, and indigenous cultures.

In his address, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein lauded the Sajolang Community for their dedicated efforts in safeguarding these cultural elements. He emphasized the significance of modernization while cherishing the rich heritage of indigenous tribes. Mein called upon everyone to protect and celebrate the traditions of the region. The Chindang Festival itself was hailed as an epitome of Arunachal Pradesh's rich cultural tapestry, celebrating the State's heritage and traditions. It underscored the importance of preserving and promoting these cultural treasures.

Mein highlighted the government's commitment to preserving indigenous traditions and culture. He noted that substantial efforts are in progress to formulate policies that ensure the protection and promotion of these invaluable cultural assets. Arunachal Pradesh's rich cultural diversity, often acclaimed as a paradise for researchers, must be cherished and safeguarded for future generations, he added.

The Deputy Chief Minister commended the elders for their pivotal role in preserving the cultural heritage, emphasizing that the younger generation should bear the responsibility of carrying this legacy forward. Safeguarding and promoting cultural traditions should be a collective societal obligation, he emphasized.

Deputy Chief Minister Mein urged artists, singers, and music composers to create songs using local lyrics and traditional music to ensure their continued vitality.

He also shed light on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for a developed India by 2047, encapsulated in the Panch Pran of Amrit Kaal. Mein stressed the state's dedication to realizing this vision and highlighted the substantial progress made in various sectors, including highways, railways, airways, telecom, riverways, and electricity. These developments are critical for fostering economic growth and connectivity within the state.
