Arunachal Pradesh COVID-19 tally at 16,479

ITANAGAR: Eighteen more people, including four Army personnel, tested positive for Covid-19 in Arunachal Pradesh, pushing the tally to 16,479, a senior health official said here on Friday.

Of the 18 new cases, five each were reported from East Siang, Tawang and West Kameng, while one each was also reported from the Capital Complex region, Tirap and Namsai district respectively, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said. Three infections were detected through True Nat tests and the remaining 15 via rapid antigen tests, he said. Barring six all the new patients are asymptomatic. The symptomatic have been shifted to Covid Care Centres.

Fourty 42 were discharged from hospitals on Thursday, taking the total number of recoveries in the state to 15,739, the official said. The State's recovery rate has risen to 95.50 per cent.
