ITANAGAR: A total of 220 more persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh during the last 24 hours pushing the tally to 12,367 on Tuesday. As on date, the State has 2,940 active coronavirus cases. Altogether 171 COVID-19 patients were cured of the disease on Monday, taking the total number of recoveries to 9,403. The recovery rate among coronavirus patients in the State stands at 76.03 per cent. Till Tuesday, 24 persons have succumbed to the infection across the State, said State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa.

Of the fresh cases, the maximum number of 88 were reported from the Capital Complex region, followed by 23 from West Siang; 16 from East Siang; 13 from Upper Subansiri; 11 each from Changlang and Tirap; 10 from Lower Dibang Valley; eight from Lohit; six each from West Kameng and Upper Siang; five from Lower Subansiri; four each from Longding and East Kameng; three from Kamle; two each from Lower Siang, Namsai, Siang and Papumpare; and one each from Pakke Kessang, Tawang, Kurung Kumey and Anjaw districts.

Barring 30, all the new patients are asymptomatic and have been shifted to COVID Care Centres.

"Among the new patients are three Assam Rifles jawans, a staffer of the India Reserve Battalion, and an employee of the State police, besides two Healthcare workers," said Dr Jampa.

The Capital Complex region — comprising the areas of Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa — has the highest number of active cases at 1,370, followed by West Siang (306), Changlang (181), Papumpare (128), East Siang (127), Tirap (116) and Upper Subansiri (108).

Over 2.77 lakh samples have been tested for Covid-19 in the state so far, including 2,598 on Monday, added the Health official.
