ITANAGAR: The number of COVID-19 recoveries surpassed fresh cases in Arunachal Pradesh, with 35 people recuperating from the disease on Monday. Meanwhile, with the detection of 24 fresh cases, the tally in the State rose to 16,061, said State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa.

A total of 14,972 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from various hospitals, with the recovery rate rising to 93.21 per cent. There are 1,040 active Coronavirus cases, while 49 people have succumbed to the infection so far. The positivity rate stands at 6.79 per cent and the fatality rate at 0.30 per cent.

Of the 24 new cases, nine were reported from Changlang; six from the Capital Complex region; two each from Lepa Rada and Tirap; and one each from Shi-Yomi, West Siang, Lower Siang, Longding and Lower Dibang Valley. "Two infections were diagnosed through True Nat tests and the remaining 22 through rapid antigen tests. Barring 10, the other new patients are asymptomatic and have been shifted to COVID Care Centres," said the official.
