ITANAGAR: The over 38,000-odd population of Aalo East constituency is a happy lot today, as they are witnessing a new dawn of development in the past four years. Kento Jini, the lawmaker with a vision to develop the neglected constituency, had undertaken several projects, including the three-kilometre, four-lane road from Hissam to Sipu Bridge, the first of its kind in the entire state, to name a few. Often referred to as 'Son of the Soil' by the locals, Jini has various dreams for the people of his constituency and plans to work for the rural areas of his constituency in his next term. Jini's uncontested win in the 2019 election is a testimony to his popularity among the people. "If I am elected again in 2024, my plan is to go for development in the rural areas of my constituency. I tried my best during this tenure to develop the urban areas, and people will give my progress report in the next elections," Jini, a visibly happy man, said.

When asked about his prospect for the next 'battle of ballots' due next year, Jini revealed that people are the best judges and they will decide whom to vote for. "I have done everything within my capacity as a leader, and people will judge my work and accordingly reward me with their blessings," a confident Jini said. Recently, several retired bureaucrats, technocrats, and senior citizens of the constituency declared their support for Jini during a meeting at Aalo. The health scenario, which was in a dismal state in the constituency a few years ago, witnessed a sea change after Jini became the MLA. Under his initiative, the Aalo General Hospital received a major facelift with the installation of several pieces of high-tech equipment. "The General Hospital received a CT scan machine besides ultrasound facilities, three ICU units with ventilators, three dialysis units, a Yolo Health ATM, and an updated blood bank," the MLA disclosed.

A children's and maternal care unit is under construction, and the hospital has all types of specialized doctors at present. Ironically, the circuit house at Aalo, which had not functioned in the past few years, started functioning after the modernization of its amenities. Similarly, work on the district secretariat is going on on a war footing along with the stadium. To cater to the drinking water needs of the people, Jini persuaded the state government to sanction a water plant with a source at Beye village, which was sanctioned with an estimated amount of Rs 43 crore, and work is going on in full swing. Nine kilometres of CC pavement town roads were completed with an amount of Rs 20 crore, while seven kilometres of sector roads under the Chief Minister Road Scheme (CMRS) were completed with a sanctioned amount of Rs 8 crore, he disclosed. Jini said that the old Aalo Club was dismantled, and a new convention hall to the tune of Rs 10 crore is coming up in its place.
