ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (retd) Dr B.D. Mishra advocated that the State government, particularly the Education department will realise the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi inter alia towards total literacy, here on Thursday.
Interacting with the officials of the State Education department immediately after attending the virtual meet on completion of one year of the 'National Education Policy (NEP)-2020', addressed by Modi, the Governor said that the roadmap for Arunachal Pradesh must be realistically followed giving priority to the local needs and aspirations.
Mishra commended the State government for declaring 2021-2022 as the 'Year of Education in Arunachal Pradesh' to focus on the education sector and to bring necessary reforms in the sector.
He suggested use of innovative methods to meet the challenge due to Covid-19 pandemic in the Education sector and further stressed on creating more awareness about Covid Appropriate Behaviour among the teaching and student communities, a Raj Bhawan communiqué informed.
State Education Minister Taba Tedir along with department's officers attended the video conference.
The conference was attended by Governors, Education Ministers and senior officers of the Education departments of various States.
