Itanagar: Governor Brig (retd) Dr BD Mishra on Saturday extended his hearty greetings to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Deepavali.

He expressed his hope that the Deepavali festival will inspire all to rise against all challenges and evils and inspire all to move forward on the path of progress and success.

On the joyous occasion, on behalf of people of Arunachal Pradesh and on his own behalf, the Governor conveyed warm greetings and gratitude to the brave soldiers and each and every member of the Indian Armed Forces. He prayed that the festive occasion and the year that lies ahead be filled with peace, happiness, joy and prosperity for one and all.

In his massage, the Governor said that the festival of lights beacons all to move from darkness to light. Let us light the lamps of compassion, love and righteousness and resolve to fight against terrorism, environment degradation, illiteracy, inequality, poverty, discrimination and malice. Let us combine and promote fraternity, dignity of individual and unity and integrity of the nation, he urged upon the people.

“While extending my heartiest greetings to my beloved people of our wonderful state, I appeal to each one in the society for a pollution-free, noise free and smoke free Deepawali celebration,” the Governor appealed in his message.
