ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (retd) Dr B.D. Mishra was sworn-in as the Governor of Mizoram on Wednesday. Gauhati High Court Judge, Justice Michael Zothankhuma administered the oath of office to the Governor at the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan in Aizawl.
Chief Minister Zoramthanga, Deputy Chief Minister Tawnluia, Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly Lalrinliana Sailo, council of ministers and leaders of political parties were present in the swearing-in ceremony. Among others presetn on the occasion were the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police and other senior officials of the State administration.
Governor Mishra will discharge the functions of the Governor of Mizoram, in addition to his own duties, during the absence on leave of Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati, Governor of Mizoram. Mishra is the 23rd Governor of Mizoram, stated a communiqué from the Raj Bhawan here.
