Itanagar: Three artisans from the State will be presenting a live demonstration of the unique traditional crafts in the annual India-Japan summit which will be held in Guwahati on December 16. Prime Ministers of India and Japan are expected to attend the summit.
From Arunachal Pradesh, two headgears from Nyishi and Adi tribes, have been selected for live demonstration of the craft in the working stations. This was informed by the NEC Shillong over a video conference on Friday with State Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar.
It was also informed that the finest headgear from Arunachal Pradesh will be presented by the craftsmen to both the Prime Ministers.
Terming the occasion as a great opportunity to showcase the unique and beautiful traditional craft of Arunachal Pradesh in an international platform, the Chief Secretary suggested to the industry secretary NT Glow to incorporate the display of other headgears of different tribes at the background of the stall to be opened during the event.
The Chief Secretary also suggested that the artisans should be dressed in their traditional attires.
