ITANAGAR: Advocating a drugs-free society, Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Bamang Felix has stated that the key mission of his department is to protect future generations from drug addiction.
"Addressing the concluding function of the three-day conference of Superintendents of Police and Commandants of Arunachal Pradesh Police Battalion and IRBn at Tawang on Wednesday, he said that charity should begin from home; and, the government employees should be freed from drug addiction.
"As informed, some government servants have confessed about their addiction to drugs with many among them undergoing treatment. Once the government-set timeline is over, anybody indulging in drug addiction will be not be excused," said Felix categorically.
Lauding the good teamwork of the State police personnel, the Home Minister said, "A police constable serves at the lowest level of hierarchy and the Home Minister at the top. Both are equally important for the department and in this hierarchy if anything goes wrong at any level, the entire system collapses as they are all interlinked and interdependent."
He directed all the police officers to review the present situation of the second wave of COVID-19 and work as a team with the SPs in the border areas where there are entry points into the State.
Earlier, Director General of Police R.P. Upadhyay apprised the Minister about the important matters that were discussed in the annual conference, stated a report from DIPRO.
