Arunachal Pradesh Information Commissioner Sonam Yudron spells out do's & don'ts on RTI

PASIGHAT: Arunachal Pradesh State Information Commission (APIC) Commissioner Sonam Yudron attended a one-day awareness-cum-interaction programme on RTI Act with PIOs, APIOs, and Public representatives of East Siang district here at Siang guest house today.

Yudron presented a presentation on various sections of the RTI Act before members were present, in which she highlighted the role and responsibility of PIOs and APIOs while discharging their duties under the Right to Information Act, 2005.

Speaking on the day, Yudron said that the RTI Act was enacted and amended in 2019 all over India. And RTI is for citizens to secure access to information under the control of public authorities to promote transparency and accountability, after its implementation still there are many Challenges to RTI Act.

She urged PIOs and APIOs to be very informative regarding RTI Act and also responsive while furnishing information to the appellant. She also requested RTI appellants to work for the betterment of the public and development rather than misusing RTI for individual benefits and harassing officers & officials for their grudges.
