ITANAGAR: The COVID-19 caseload in Arunachal Pradesh increased to 63,619 on Tuesday after 139 more people tested positive for the infection, a senior health official said here. The death toll in the north-eastern State rose to 292 after a lady succumbed to the infection on Monday, he said.
The 65-year-old woman from the Capital Complex Region died at a health facility here, due to Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome with Covid Pneumonia, State Surveillance Officer Dr Lobsang Jampa said.
Arunachal Pradesh currently has 1,443 active cases. A total of 12,50,055 samples have been tested for the infection in the state so far, including 1,724 on Monday, Jampa said, adding that the positivity ratio dipped to 8.06 per cent from 12.34 per cent the previous day.
State Immunization Officer Dr Dimong Padung said as many as 15,95,778 people have been inoculated with COVID vaccines so far. At least 56,855 beneficiaries in the age group of 15-18 years have been vaccinated and 19,293 senior citizens received the booster jab.
