ITANAGAR: The COVID-19 tally in Arunachal Pradesh rose to 51,655 with 142 more people tested positive for the infection, a senior health department official said here on Wednesday.
The toll tally in the frontier State remained at 252 as no death was reported in the past 24 hours, said State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.
The Capital Complex Region recorded the highest number of fresh cases at 30, followed by Lower Subansiri (24), eight cases each from Anjaw, East Siang and Leparada, seven each from West Kameng, Tawang, Lohit and Papumpare and five from Upper Subansiri.
A total of four fresh cases each were also reported from Lower Dibang Valley, Siang and Upper Siang, three each from Tirap, Kamle and Changlang, two each from Lower Siang, Namsai, Pakke Kessang and West Siang and one each from Longding and East Kameng district respectively.
Among the fresh cases, 121 were detected through rapid antigen tests, 12 through RT-PCR and 9 through TrueNAT method, the official said adding, 75 people were with symptoms. The active cases in the State now stand at 1,763.
As many as 215 patients were cured of the disease on Tuesday taking the total number of recoveries in the State to 49,640, Jampa said.
The recovery rate among Coronavirus patients in the State stand at 96.10 per cent while the active percentage stands at 3.41 and the positivity rate at 3.56 per cent.
The Capital Complex Region -- comprising Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas -- has the highest number of active cases at 447, followed by Lower Subansiri (163), Papumpare (141), West Kameng (131) and Lohit with 100 cases.
Altogether, 10,11,678 samples have been tested for COVID-19 in the State so far, including 3,988 on Tuesday, added Dr Jampa.
Meanwhile, State Immunisation Officer (SSO) Dr Dimong Padung informed that a total of 9,16,075 people have been administered COVID-19 vaccine doses so far in the State since the inoculation drive began in January this year.
So far, the State government has declared 20 containment zones in the State including, seven in the Capital Complex Region, keeping in view the highest incidences of positive cases.
