ITANAGAR: The COVID-19 caseload in Arunachal Pradesh rose to 55,031 as 17 more people tested positive for the infection, a senior health official said here on Wednesday. The death toll in the northeastern state remained at 280 as no casualties were reported in the past few days, the official said.
As many as 54,606 people recuperated from the disease in the state thus far including 17 on Tuesday, State Surveillance Officer Dr Lobsang Jampa said. Arunachal Pradesh currently has 145 active cases. The recovery rate among COVID-19 patients remained at 99.23 per cent while the active percentage stood at 0.26, the SSO said.
West Kameng district has the highest number of active cases at 50, followed by Namsai (22),Tawang (13) and Shi-Yomi at 11 cases. As many as 11,75,688 samples have been tested for COVID-19 so far, including 1,849 on Tuesday, Jampa said adding, the positivity ratio in the state stands at below one per cent. According to State Immunisation Officer Dr Dimong Padung, a total of 12,67,378 people have been inoculated thus far in the state.
