ITANAGAR: Thirty nine more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Arunachal, pushing the total caseload in the north-eastern State to 52,870, a senior health official said here Monday.

The death toll in the frontier State remained at 260, as no casualty was reported in the past 24 hours, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said. The Capital Complex Region reported the highest number of new cases at 17, followed by Lower Subansiri (12), three each from West Kameng and Leparada, two from Lohit and one each from Tawang and Lower Dibang Valley district respectively, the official said. The active cases in the State now stand at 966, the official said.
