ITANAGAR: Single-day recovery surpassed fresh Covid-19 cases in Arunachal Pradesh for the third consecutive day on Tuesday, with 86 more people recuperating from the infection, against 69 fresh cases, a senior health official said.

The State recorded 47 recoveries and 17 fresh infections on Monday.

With the new cases, the Covid-19 tally in the State rose to 65,893 while, 65,164 people recuperated thus far, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.

Among the new cases, 18 were reported from the Dibang Valley district, 12 from Upper Siang, 11 from Namsai and five each from Changlang and Lower Subansiri district respectively, the official said.

Arunachal Pradesh currently has 433 active cases, the SSO said.

The recovery rate stands at 98.89 per cent, while the active rate stood at 0.66 per cent, Dr Jampa said.

The Namsai district has the highest number of active cases at 68, followed by Dibang Valley at 48, East Siang (37), the Capital Complex Region comprising, Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas at 35 and Upper Siang with 28 active cases. A total of 12,83,381 samples have been tested for Coronavirus in the State thus far, including 431 on Monday, Jampa added.

So far 18,07,991 people have been inoculated with Coronavirus vaccines in the State, State Immunization Officer (SIO) Dr Dimong Padung informed.
